Aeration & Overseeding in Nashville, Tennessee
Core aeration and overseeding in the window where the seed will actually take.
Nashville's Weed and Feed connects homeowners across Middle Tennessee with licensed, insured lawn treatment companies for aeration & overseeding. Estimates are free and written, the price is agreed before work starts, and the workmanship is backed in writing.
What the job usually involves
Every property is different, which is why the estimate comes after somebody has actually looked at it rather than before. What does not change is the process: assess, explain the options in plain language, put the scope and price in writing, then do the work to that scope.

Aeration & Overseeding, in practice
Core aeration pulls plugs out and genuinely relieves compaction. Spike aeration pushes holes in and compacts the soil around each one, which is close to the opposite of the intent.
The window is narrow and it decides the outcome. Early autumn for fescue, late spring for bermuda. Seed put down outside those windows is mostly money on the ground.
Overseeding without aerating first has poor results, because seed needs soil contact. Broadcasting onto a compacted thatchy lawn leaves most of it sitting on top.
Watering after overseeding is the part homeowners control and the part that most often fails. Light and frequent until germination, then progressively deeper — and we write it down rather than mentioning it on the way out.
